Over the past 7 years, Co:Here has often been asked how such a small faith community carried such a big project. There are many answers but the most notable is that the whole church carried the vision. Grandview Church’s housing vision stemmed from their larger mission and desire to be a church that cares for the wellbeing our neighbourhood.
This event will help churches locate a vision for housing within their wider vision as a church.
It has been designed for church leaders (lay and pastoral) with the following intended outcomes:
- Articulate a theology of place that can shape your church’s involvement in housing as an expression of your mission
- Hear stories of various approaches other churches are taking to address housing issues in their neighbourhoods and to create homes
- Consider next steps for your own context
This event is hosted in Vancouver, the unceded territories of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) First Nations.
